Here we show you how to install the full length Easycraft easyASCOT wall panels.  These are perfect as a DIY as they go straight onto your plasterboard walls and make such an impact in any existing room.

Step 1 : Planning & Preparation

The easyASCOT panels are 600mm wide, so to work out how many sheets you need, measure the length of the room an divide it by 600 – the width of the sheets.

Step 2 : Set Out

Set out the wall to work out where to place each panel.  With easyASCOT, always start from the centre of the room and work your way out.  To establish the width of the starting board, work out where the centre of the room is and work across the wall towards the starting point in 600mm increments.  In this instance, it gives us a starting panel of 185mm.

Step 3 : Measure & Cut

Now that we’ve established the measurement, turn the board around, measure 185mm and cut.

Step 4 : Ensure Your Starting Panel is Plumb

Place your starting panel in the corner and use a spirit level to ensure it’s level.  If it isn’t, you’ll need to trim the side that goes against the corner of the wall until it is.

Step 5 : Glue Up

Once you’re sure your first board is ready to go, place acrylic stud adhesive straight onto the wall to glue up the boards.

Step 6 : Lay the Boards

Use a fix out gun to hold each board in place until the glue dries.  If you don’t have a fix out gun, you can use a hammer and nails.

Step 7 : Repeat!

These panels are developed with a tongue and groove system, which means you can achieve a nice tight join.  Another way to make sure is to use an off-cut against the edge of each panel and give them a little tap with a hammer to make sure they fit together tightly.

Step 8 : Mark Out Powerpoints

If your power is live, it’s important to use a licensed electrician.  In our case it’s not, so we’re going to measure the entry point and make a mark on the board to drill it out and pull the wires through.

Step 9 : Measure & Fit the Final Sheet

Once you’ve place the last full panel, measure and cut the final piece: in theory it should be exactly the same as the starting panel, but you should still measure to check before cutting.  Glue up the final sheet and slide into place by slipping in over the tongue.  Give it a little tap on the front with a flat hand to fit it in tight, and fix it off.

Step 10 : Finishing Off

These panels are pre-primed and ready to paint, but you do need to putty and sand the holes first.  And then it’s time to style!
