Having already selected our flooring for the renovation – Godfrey Hirst Regal Oak ‘Doulton’ in the 240mm wide board – we set about choosing a wall colour for the bedroom. Taubman’s ‘Silver Mink’ was the winner – the perfect mix of blue, grey and turquoise. This colour looks great on the Easycraft VJ wall linings – a definite coastal feel.
One thing Kyal and I rarely agree on is art. He told me he was choosing something for our master bedroom – and secretly, I thought, ‘we’ll at least it’s not on show to the rest of the house if I’m not a fan’ (don’t judge me)- but he surprised me and chose the most beautiful piece from Australian Photographer Rich from SA Rips. I absolutely love the contrast of the ocean and desert in this piece. The perfect colour palette for this house! Well done Kyal!
We’ve had this bed for a few years now and it worked well in our old master bedroom which was HUGE! It’s a bit of a monster in this room but I don’t want to part with it. The wall lights are Caravaggio lamps designed by Cecilie Manz and available from Cult Design.
The Bedlinen is a mix of pieces I’ve had for years and some new pillow cases and throws from Hale Mercantile Co. Many of you know I love a good op shop find – especially ceramics – I’ve had these ceramic gems for years!
The casement windows from Wideline Windows open to let the sea breeze in and I must say they are beautiful inside and out! I can’t wait to have some whole house ‘before’ and ‘after’ shots put together as these windows make the front of the house! Curtains are S-Fold sheers in ‘Nettex Cannes – Pearl’ from Central Coast Curtains and Blinds, and wardrobes are a traditional ‘Shaker Style’ with mirror inserts from Affordable Wardrobes.
This bedroom leads onto the deck at the front of the house. I’ve painted the external door leading into bedroom in Taubmans ‘Crushing Waves’ as I wanted a crisp, fun colour! Looking forward to some good night sleeps in the bedroom (especially before baby arrives).
